    Midland Memorial Hospital is proud to become one of the first hospitals in West Texas to be a designated Baby Box Co. distribution center. Baby Everly of Odessa, TX was the first baby at MMH to receive a Baby Box. The purpose of these boxes is to educate new parents on safe sleep practices and to provide infants with a safe sleep space in an effort to reduce SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).     In 2015, we debuted the new Midland Health brand and logo, as well as our new mission, vision and core values. Since then, a few changes have been made and we are already seeing a positive impact on our county health ranking as a result. In 2016, we built a community garden to provide the community with an affordable way to grow fresh produce and promote healthy eating.   • MCHD Police to Launch Teddy Bear Program

    On July 1, the Midland County Hospital District Police Department (MCHD PD) will unveil their new teddy program. The program was created by Chief Kenny Taylor and Officer Johnny Valderaz when they saw a need for children who visit Midland Memorial Hospital as a patient or as a child who has witnessed a traumatic event.     Our Critical Care Unit recently traveled to Houston, Texas to accept their new Silver Beacon Award for Excellence, given by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
