Midland Health Community Garden
Want to make a difference? So do we. We're starting from the ground up with a dream to create healthy dietary options for everyone in the Midland community. We have built a community garden right on the Midland Memorial Hospital West Campus grounds, at 4214 Andrews Highway.
Help our dream of a healthier Midland take root. Visit our community garden page or contact the Community Relations Department at (432) 221-1185 for information about becoming a sponsor, renting a plot, or other ways you can get involved.
Whole-food, Plant-based Nutrition
On April 2, 2016, Midland Health hosted a Food Is Medicine seminar at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center. Over 500 attendees learned how a plant-based diet can prevent and reverse chronic disease, how exercise plays an important part of a healthy lifestyle and how to shop and cook on the plant-based diet.
The 2017 Food Is Medicine seminar is scheduled for Saturday, August 12. More details will be released soon.
To learn more about whole-food, plant-based nutrition, visit our Food Is Medicine resource page. This page has a list of recommended plant-based cookbooks and online recipes, as well as contact information for the Plant Strong West Texas Pod group and local physician offices that support this lifestyle.
